Well after the big update last year, I was getting very frustrated with the way the site was running, that I pretty much let it lapse and didn't do anything here. I just kept things up on my Flickr site. Things seem a lot more stable here now, and I really miss the sense of community here.
So I'm going to being uploading here again, and keeping an eye on the network here.
I've learned a lot over the last year, and looking forward to continuing to get more great constructive feedback on my photos, and looking forward to seeing more great work from everyone else!
Cheers!

This is my second DD and I was overwhelmed with the responses on my first, but this one is one of my favorite photos. And what's surprising is that it was taken a long time ago (2006) when I really felt that I didn't know what I was doing with photography.
Thanks again for the responses, watches and favorites!

After a discussion with a good friend of mine, and model, CindyFay (https://www.deviantart.com/cindyfay), we decided to do a theme based on the Brandon Lee movie, The Crow.
The movie begins with a story told by a young girl named Sarah about the legend of The Crow. The story states that when a person dies, their soul is carried to the afterlife by a crow; however, if that person's soul is at unrest, the crow has the power to bring that person back to life so that they can right the wrongs that were done to them before they can find peace.

Lately I've changed my photographic outlook and am forging ahead with a certain style and type of photos that I enjoy shooting and seeing. I had an epiphany one day when someone was going through my print portfolio and kept saying, "Wow, she's pretty" and "Nice, she's gorgeous."
That was all fine and good, but I'd rather they were saying, "That's an incredible photo....oh, and btw, she's beautiful!" So I've now changed my focus to doing more creative thematic shoots with an edge, as well as artistic nudes. Of course, the best would be creative, thematic nude

Last weekend I had the opportunity to once again work with Jeanine (she of the Into the Mouth of Madness fame) on a very cool project that she and I cooked up shortly after doing our first shoot together. The idea was to have sort of a dead spirit with a demon dog trying to find her way through the underworld. The theme evolved over the week or two we waited before shooting, but it all came together in a great collaborative effort by everyone involved.
We ended up using my sisters great dane in some photos, but I didnt use any of those shots in this set (but will be
